Säynätsalo Town Hall

Town Hall Café and Bakery – Mosaic Concrete Floor

The Säynätsalo Town Hall Café and Bakery gets its new concrete mosaic floor!

Now we have the first stages of the floor laying: mixing the ingredients and pouring the mass into a metal grid layed on the floor. After the concrete has dried then we will see after some grinding the final result!

Project needs some special skills that are quite rare in Finland. Some samples were made by local concrete supplier HB-betoni and architect Jonas Malmberg from Alvar Aalto Foundation accepted the result. The floor specialist Pentti Muhli (video) layed the concrete on Friday June 15th.
