Easy way to get to know the world-famous Säynätsalo Town Hall
We pick you up from the center of Jyväskylä and drive to Säynätsalo.
During the half-hour journey, the driver tells you about Alvar Aalto and Jyväskylä. Then you get to know the world-famous Säynätsalo Town Hall (1949-52) on 30 minutes guided tour. You will hear stories and facts about Aalto’s life, architecture and the history of Säynätsalo.
After the guided tour you will have plenty of time to shop in our Design Shop, explore the building yourself and take photos. You may also want to taste fresh pastries and cakes of the Town Hall Café and Bakery. On weekdays, the café may also serve a tasty soup for lunch.
We will take you back to the hotel if you wish. We can also arrange schedules so that you have the opportunity to return to Jyväskylä with s / s Suomi, the same steamboat Alvar Aalto used to sail.
